Welcome
AT OHIO WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY (sometimes referred to as OWU and pronounced oh-woo), international education is a positive force for mutual understanding. We encourage our students to study abroad, and we also encourage students from other countries to attend Ohio Wesleyan.
Ohio Wesleyan offers you a rigorous education and the opportunity to form close and lasting relationships with faculty members and other OWU students. You’ll also find many ways to experience the real world—from conducting your own research to participating in challenging internships to working in a variety of community service projects both in the United States and abroad. Our liberal arts tradition prepares you to think critically and creatively, to solve problems, and to face the complexities of a rapidly changing world.
As you consider your college choice, it might help you to know that:
- Ohio Wesleyan University has the highest percentage of international students among undergraduate, bachelor’s-degree-granting colleges in the State of Ohio and the 14th highest percentage among similar colleges in the entire United States.
- Ohio Wesleyan’s student body of fewer than 2,000 students includes nine percent international students.
- Our international student population consistently hails from more than 40 countries.
- After graduation, 50 percent of OWU international students go on to graduate school, 25 percent accept employment in the United States, and 25 percent return to their homes for further schooling or careers.
You deserve a world-class education. And you can find it here. At Ohio Wesleyan.
