For Admitted Students Only: Next Steps in Your Enrollment Process

There are several things you need to do if you have been admitted and choose to begin your collegiate career at Ohio Wesleyan.

  • Fill out the decision form, indicating whether you have chosen to enroll at OWU or at another institution.
  • Indicate what method of payment you will use for your US$400 enrollment deposit: US check, online payment, wire transfer, international money order, or draft.
  • Complete the International Student Certification of Finances 2008-2009 (123k PDF*). Submit the form to the Office of International Admission along with your enrollment deposit. The Sevis I-20 cannot be issued until we have received the Certification of Finances (see FAQs for SEVIS information). Please read the instructions carefully before you complete the form because we cannot accept it if it is not properly completed. Click here for detailed instructions. (37k PDF*).
  • Complete and submit the I-20 Issuance Form (34k PDF*). This form gives you the option to provide and confirm a different mailing address for the I-20. You may choose one of the mailing options for I-20 delivery.
  • Estimate annual expenses for Proof of Funds I-20 Issuance. This link shows what your University expenses will be for the next academic year, and you can use it to figure out the approximate costs of your expenses for the next four years. Assume that costs will increase by about 4 percent each year.
  • If you are currently enrolled at a US high school or a university, you will need to submit a SEVIS transfer form in order to have your I-20 issued. Use this form for high school SEVIS transfer; use this form for college SEVIS transfer.

Once we receive your tuition deposit, the I-20 issuance form, and the updated Certification of Finances, the I-20 form will be issued and sent to you. We strongly recommend that you use a courier service as the method of the I-20 form mail delivery. A small fee is required for any courier service (please refer to the I-20 issuance form). After the enrollment deposit is made. The next step is to apply online for housing and register for the August session of StART OWU. The Office of International Student Services will send you other materials that you will need to submit. Use this check list (link) to make sure you have submitted all required forms.
